Located on the so-called Pine Tree Traffic Circle (Rótula dos Pinheiros) in the center of Gramado, Mother’s Square features a European Oak tree that symbolizes respect for life and for the history of Gramado. The site also houses a monument to the first inhabitants of Gramado: the Caingangues indians. The life-size statue depicts a woman with a child in her arms and represents the first mother to live in the city. The square also holds another attraction with a noble meaning. The “Donor Angel Monument” is a 2.3 meter high bronze sculpture with a concrete bases and surrounded by gardens. It was donated by the “Via Vida” pro-donation and transplant agency in honor of anonymous organ and tissue donors. Address: Av. das Hortênsias, exit to Canela
