Av. Borges de Medeiros, 4111. Expogramado. Caixa Postal 298. CEP 95670-000 - Gramado - RS

The quarry in a high and dry place, in the midst of the wetlands of the former colony, looked tempting to house the first square in the city. Even more being close to the Catholic chapel - because church and square go together like chocolate and fondue, right?
It wasn't very easy at first. In 1936, when Major Nicoletti square was built, a lot of dynamite was used to prepare the old quarry. As soon as it was ready - it received many resources from the community - it became a meeting point.
Here, romances sprang up - and as in every village - good and bad news spread by word of mouth. The square hosted events and to this day is a meeting point for people who go and stay. At Natal Luz, it is even more beautiful and decorated.
At that time, many vacationers were already coming to Gramado, especially aboard the trains. The renovation in 2003 made it even more pleasant. Don't even try to resist the graceful spaces for flowery photos!
Ah, let me tell you about the name Major Nicoletti, a tribute to the 1st Sub-Intendent of the place, who established the District headquarters, currently Gramado, in 1913.

A tourist information center operates in this space and it also has a well-maintained bathroom.
From here, you can follow your way to four very close tourist spots: Igreja Matriz São Pedro, Palácio dos Festivais, Rua Coberta and Avenida Borges de Medeiros.
Have a good trip!
