The crooked street

PORTUGUÊS

ESPAÑOL

Here are some of the funniest curves in Gramado. The street is called Emílio Sorgetz, but everyone knows it as Rua Torta and just look at it and understand why.

The crooked street is a tribute to Lombard Street, which is in California. There, it was invented in 1922 to eliminate steps and facilitate vehicle access.

Ours, in Gramado, is 112.5 meters long and 8 meters wide. was designed by the Architect Vonei Benetti. The project was by the architect Marcela Rodrigues.

Here, there are those who travel by car to experience the sequence of curves. But the best thing is to walk around, observing the details such as the flowerbeds that are always in bloom and care. There are also historic poles, which resemble those of 100 years ago, when there were lighthouse keepers responsible for turning on the lights.

Among so many places to photograph, this is one of the most sought after.
