The Italian couple Vicente and Fátima Marcon shares the story of their ancestors at the family memorial, showing objects that were used by their parents, the planting of corn and handling farm animals. Visitors are invited to feed the sheep with their own hands. To finish up this tour stop, everyone tastes a good grape juice, accompanied by breads and jams produced by the Marcon family.
ALAMBIQUE DOS ROSSAS
The art of producing cachaça (a Brazilian distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice) is the highlight of this part of the tour. The owner and producer Romeu Rossa is in charge, who tells the story of his family. Visitors follow the production of cachaça process from the alembic area up until the sugarcane harvest. In the middle of a field, where green vegetation predominates, visitors will be able to taste these delights.
FAMÍLIA BARETTA
In a centenary half-timbered house, where a German style Kerb party room used to be, visitors are welcomed by its owner Jovani Baretta, who serves a tasty afternoon brunch with true colonial products filled with cakes, pastries, cucas (German style bread), juices and coffees. The accordionist stretches his accordion and everyone is invited to dance and sing along.
TRANSPORTATION
Brocker Turismo conducts the tour aboard a vintage bus departing from one of the most visited spots in Gramado, Praça das Etnias - which brings all the culture of the country man to the city center. Here, tourists can visit the colonist's house, the ovens, the Italian Memorial and the German and Portuguese style houses.
