The Colonial Roots Tour touches the hearts of adults and children! A true journey back to the origins of Italian colonization in the municipality of Gramado. Continuing through the locations of Linha Nova and Linha Bonita, visitors can discover the cultural heritage of immigrants, passed on from generation to generation until the present day. The typical architecture, the hospitality and a delicious colonial breakfast make this tour an unforgettable experience.
CASA CENTENÁRIA
Built in wood on top of a stone basement (where wines, cheeses and salami are still kept today), it tells us a little about the history of Gramado and its settlers, where more than 120 years ago the Ferrari Family took root in a small piece of land in the countryside of Gramado.
ERVATERIA MARCON
In here the typical drink of Rio Grande do Sul stands out. Visitors are welcomed by the Marcon Family, where it is possible to closely follow the artisanal process of making yerba mate, the raw material for mate (chimarrão), which can be tasted at the end of the visit.
MUSEU FIOREZE
Since he was a child, the desire to collect objects has fascinated Mr. Nelson Fioreze. In a good-natured way, he leads visitors through the museum telling the story of some of his relics.
CAFFÉ DELLA NONNA - FAMÍLIA FOSSThe smell of warm homemade breads, delicious fruit jams, fresh butter, cheeses, salami, cooked sausages, polenta, entice the palate of visitors, who are welcomed by the matriarch Dona Zulmira Foss, to the sound of typical Italian music. You can’t avoid falling in love with the history of the colonization of Gramado and not take with you the delicious colonial products handmade by the family. In order to finish this tour with a flourish, lots of music and joy with the excitement and participation of all to sing La Bella Polenta and have fun with the family.
